Priscilla and the Art of Focus
Priscilla and the Art of Focus [Editor’s Note: This is the first in a series of guest posts by Remi Roy. She will be sharing devotionals related to people in the Bible! I’m so excited to have these as an addition to Devotional Diva. Thank you so much, Remi!] The churches of Asia greet you. Aquila and Priscilla greet you heartily in the Lord, with the church that is in their house. 1 Corinthians 16:19, NKJV I have pondered this thought for a while now. We aren’t busier today than older generations were in their time, only more distracted. Man has always been and will always be busy. There are…

Casa di Giulietta — Verona, Italy
Happy Valentines Day, Divas!! In our last Devotional Diva post, I shared most of our trip to Vicenza and Verona, Italy… LEAVING OUT THE MOST ROMANTIC (YET FICTIONAL) PART! I saved Casa di Giulietta in Verona for a special Valentines Day post! We had to do it. I love Romeo & Juliet. It’s supposed to be where she lived. There is a statue of Juliet, there is her infamous balcony and a small museum. (What I really want to know is where is the pool that Leonardo DiCaprio falls into in the movie version???) Also — there’s a tomb not far from here. We didn’t make it over there. While…

Verona & Vicenza, Italy: Diva Travel Trip Recap
A couple weeks ago, we decided to take advantage of our current location in Croatia and check out a more northern area of Italy — the Veneto region. We set our sights on mainly Vicenza and Verona. We are going to do Venice as a separate trip at some point. Venice is super nearby, but there is a lot to do!

Let Your Light Shine
[Editor’s Note: Today I’m thrilled to share a Q&A with actress, model and filmmaker Miranda Cobb. She is a woman of faith with big dreams! I hope her story inspires you. Thank you, Miranda!] MW: What do you feel is your calling or mission in life? MC: The mission God has for me is being the light and vessel to ultimately shine in one of the darkest industries- the media. MW: Are there any moments in your life that stands out as forming that mission or calling? MC: I went to a Talent convention a couple of years ago that was centered on Christ. It was really profound, in terms, of…

Galentine’s Day Gift Ideas
Galentine’s Gift Ideas Hey Divas. Have you heard of Galentine’s Day? It falls on February 13th, and it is a holiday to celebrate your female friendships! If you google it, you’re going to probably see a lot of information about the episode of Parks & Recreation called “Galentine’s Day.” I won’t lie. This is where I heard about it. If you’ll recall, Parks and Recreation was also the inspiration for the Devotional Diva tagline “Devote Yourself!” (From the famous “Treat Yo’ Self” episode.) I wanted to inspire you to celebrate sisterhood this Valentine’s season, so I’ve put together a cute little gift guide. These are all products I use and can…

Becoming a Mom is Completely Terrifying (and so is really being one!)
[Note: This is an updated version of my blog post that was originally published on Devotional Diva before I had my son in May 2015. I was recently telling a friend about this post. I was having major brain fog and was like, “Oh man, what was it called? Becoming a mom is completely…? Anxiety…?” It made me want to look back at the post and I decided to update it a little.] Becoming a mom is completely terrifying. Almost every night for the past few weeks, I’ve started falling asleep…and then I realize, I’M GOING TO BE A MOM. I go into a panic, thinking about how hard it will…

How I Plan + Blog Planning
How I Plan + Blog Planning Tips In today’s lifestyle post, I thought I’d share my current planner set-up with you and some blog planning tips. I thought it might be interesting, since I know there are quite a few planner enthusiasts out there! I’m currently using an A5 Aqua Patent Domino Filofax and Month on 2 Pages inserts from the Etsy shop DearPlanner. In February, I will be using stickers from the Etsy shop MareBareCrafts — these little dewdrops are a lot smaller than the Martha Stewart comparables but are very similar and actually removable, too. My system for blog planning is fairly streamlined at this point. I have to…

I Love You (but you love me more)
I Love You (But You Love Me More) [Editor’s Note: This is a guest post by Melissa Merrett, who is bringing even MORE music to Devotional Diva! Melissa is sharing about her intimate songwriting experience as a Christian musician. I’m so grateful to be exposed to and to be sharing these wonderful Christian artists with you recently and I hope you enjoy their work!] I sat down at my piano to do some songwriting one morning. The birds were chirping and I had just boiled the kettle and poured myself a nice hot cup of tea. As I was sipping my tea in the silence of my bedroom at the piano,…

Florence Cathedral: Churches Around the World
It’s time for another installment of Devotional Diva’s “Churches Around the World” series! Today we’re taking a look at the Florence Cathedral, which is of course in Florence, Italy (or Firenze as the Italians say!). The official name of the church is The Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore but it is also known as the Duomo because of the glorious domes that make it so iconic. We enjoyed seeing the Cathedral, and I would recommend it. It’s kind of a must-see in you’re in Florence and not easy to miss! Since we were there in late fall, there was no line to get in. It didn’t take too much…

Reflecting and Projecting: How to Live Each Year with Purpose
Reflecting and Projecting: How to Live Each Year with Purpose [Editor’s Note: This is a guest post by Britney Christian Miller. Britney is sharing her story today about being a Christian missionary and musician abroad and her goals now that she is home in California this year. You may be noticing more music on Devotional Diva! I’m thrilled about this, and there is more to come 😉 Thank you, Britney!] This time of year, all of us do two things; we reflect and we project. We reflect on the year we just lived and then we project our ideals on to a new year. Whether we do this for five minutes when…
