Writing Tips from Author Frances Gregory Pasch

    November 29, 2016 /

Writing Tips from Author Frances Gregory Pasch [Editor’s Note: This is an interview I conducted with author Frances Gregory Pasch. She’s 82 years wise and has blessed us with some awesome writing tips! Some background on Frances… Frances Gregory Pasch has been married to her husband, Jim, since 1958. They have five sons and nine grandchildren. They live in New Jersey. You can contact Frances on her website: www.francesgregorypasch.com.] Do you consider yourself a lifelong writer? No. I did write couponing and refunding columns for a year in the early 1980’s for a local newspaper, but I had not written anything before that. In 1983, at the age of 50 I had a…

    Thankful for My Husband

    November 18, 2016 /

[Editor’s Note: Today I am welcoming back veteran Diva Sarah Coleman to congratulate her on the release of her new book, Together: A Journey Of Godly Marriage. Glad to have you back with this timely Thanksgiving piece, Sarah!] It is the time of year when we are thankful. Thankful for the many blessings God has bestowed upon our lives. Yet sometimes there are blessings right under our noses that escape notice. Blessings we take for granted. People in our lives we forget to thank. “Oh, they know how much I love and appreciate them.” Do they? I met my husband when I was thirty-one. After ten years of my adult life…

    Florence, Italy: Diva Travel

    November 17, 2016 /

Today I’m excitedly sharing with you photos from our anniversary trip to Florence, Italy! We had an amazing time and it’s my favorite city we’ve visited in Italy so far. And it was really kid and stroller-friendly. We weren’t able to do “all the things” Florence has to offer, because it is A LOT. We chose to do a lot of walking around and saw much of Florence that way.

An Interview with Singer TaRanda Greene!

    November 15, 2016 /

TaRanda Greene Editor’s Note: I had the privilege of conducting an interview with Christian singer TaRanda Greene. She has an amazing testimony! TaRanda is a solo artist and part of the group Cana’s Voice. Group Members are Jody McBrayer, TaRanda Greene and Doug Anderson. I hope you are inspired by TaRanda’s story as much as I was. Here is a little background before we dive into the interview: She pursued her music career dreams, and God led her to her husband. They toured together and were blessed with two beautiful daughters. When her husband had a failing kidney, she donated hers. Tragically, he still passed away.    Looking through your…

Why I Chose to Marry Young – Revisited

    November 3, 2016 /

This post was originally published on Devotional Diva on June 8th, 2014. I decided that since my husband Brandon and I will be celebrating 5 years of marriage this month, I wanted to rework this post since I (personally) feel it’s one of my most important. Also, there will be no new Devotional Diva posts next week because we will be off celebrating our anniversary! (side note: Devotional Diva founder Renee Fisher also recently celebrated 5 years! Congrats!)   I chose to marry young — at 19, to be exact.   Brandon and I have a fairy tale love story – with some major kinks thrown in. We had…

    Holy Shakespeare!

    November 1, 2016 /

Holy Shakespeare! [Editor’s Note: This post includes selections from Holy Shakespeare! 101 lines or passages from William Shakespeare’s works paired with Scripture passages that appear in the bard’s classics by Maisie Sparks. I received a copy from the publisher so that I could review and pick out a few of my favorites. It was a treat for a Shakespeare fan like me! I’ve included the author’s introduction, as well. Enjoy, Divas!] Four hundred years after his death, William Shakespeare is still considered the greatest playwright of all time. Could that be because he knew intimately the Greatest Book of all the ages? His plays, poems, and sonnets are filled with scriptural allusions…

A Very Diva Christmas – Writers Wanted!

    October 27, 2016 /

Hey Divas, I’m cooking up my 3rd annual Devotional Diva Christmas Guest Post Series and looking for guest contributors! (Wow, can you believe it will be my 3rd Christmas here at DD?) Anyways, I’m looking for writers who would like to pick a scripture from the Christmas story to be inspired by (Luke 1 or 2). I’m thinking the Magnificat (Luke 46-55 would be a wonderful source!) The Magnificat: Mary’s Song of Praise 46 Mary responded, “Oh, how my soul praises the Lord. 47     How my spirit rejoices in God my Savior! 48 For he took notice of his lowly servant girl,     and from now on all generations will call me blessed. 49 For the…
